GERMINATION PLEDGE
At GASCo, we take germination seriously and are committed to ensuring that your experience is as smooth as possible. If you encounter any issues with germination, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We offer the same guarantees that our breeders extend to us, and we aim to resolve any issues fairly and efficiently.
Germination Guarantee Considerations
- The industry standard for germination is a 90% success rate. While seeds are living organisms and some may fail to germinate, this is typically due to environmental factors, storage conditions, or minor grower errors. It is advisable to purchase 10% more seeds than needed to account for any potential issues.
- While we do our best to ensure the quality of our seeds, please note that we cannot be held responsible for issues resulting from improper storage or germination methods.
Conditions for the Germination Guarantee
To qualify for a replacement under our germination guarantee, the following conditions must be met:
- Purchase: The seeds must have been purchased from GASCo.
- Timeframe: You must notify us of any germination issues within 60 days of purchase.
- Germination: All seeds from the same order must be germinated for the claim to be valid.
- Method: You must have followed one of our recommended germination techniques.
How to File a Claim
If you experience issues with germination, please contact us immediately. Be sure to include the following:
- Your order number.
- The specific strain(s) that failed to germinate.
- Any photos or videos that can support your claim.
Replacement Policy
We offer account credits for any failed germination claims, which can be used for future purchases. Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds, and shipping costs are not included in the credit.
Recommended Germination Techniques
Seed Storage
Store your seeds in an airtight container (like a Tupperware) in a cool, dark place. A refrigerator is ideal, but ensure there is no moisture present to prevent mold growth.
Paper Towel Germination Method
This is a simple and effective technique for germinating seeds. It’s ideal for beginners and has consistently yielded excellent results.
Materials Needed:
- Ziplock bag (sandwich size or larger)
- Clean, purified water (store-bought water is preferable)
- Paper towels (new and clean)
Steps:
- Prepare the Paper Towel: Tear a paper towel in half and moisten one of the halves with clean water. Ensure the towel is damp but not soaking wet.
- Place Seeds: Lay the seeds on one half of the paper towel and fold the other half over them.
- Create a Greenhouse Effect: Place the paper towel with the seeds inside a Ziplock bag and seal it. This creates a miniature greenhouse that maintains heat and moisture.
- Temperature: Store the bag in a warm environment (ideally between 21-25°C) and check daily. The seeds should sprout within 3-10 days.
Important Notes:
- Label Each Strain: If germinating more than one strain at the same time, use a separate Ziplock bag for each strain and label them clearly.
- Avoid Over-moistening: Too much water can cause the seeds to rot. Ensure the paper towel stays moist, but not soaked.
After Germination
Once the seeds have sprouted, it’s important to transplant them carefully into a suitable growing medium, such as soil, vermiculite, or coco. Handle the seedlings gently, avoiding direct contact with the roots or feeder leaves.
Handling Seedlings:
- Use tweezers to handle the delicate seedlings by their cotyledons (the first leaves).
- Make a small hole in the growing medium large enough to cover the seed’s root without damaging it.
- Ensure the seedling is upright and well-supported by the medium.
Aftercare:
- Keep the newly transplanted seedlings in a warm, moist environment but avoid overwatering.
- Watch out for pests, such as snails, birds, and insects, which are attracted to young plants.
